Amel Salim - Research Fellow

Amel Salim, MD, MSc, is a physician and clinical research fellow at the Detroit Orthopedic Research Foundation (DORF). She earned her MD from Addis Ababa University School of Medicine and an MSc in International Development and Global Health from the University at Buffalo, where her work focused on health equity. At DORF, she works on orthopedic studies of clinical and radiographic outcomes, patient-reported measures, and surgical technique, with a focus on evidence that improves patient care and informs practice.

Krish Kothiya - Research Assistant

Krish Kothiya is an undergraduate student at Michigan State University majoring in Biology and is a member of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) 3+4 Early Assurance Program and the Osteopathic Medical Scholars Program. He is an aspiring orthopedic physician and is interested in orthopedic surgery and clinical outcomes research. His role includes participating in literature reviews, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and collaborating with investigators and research staff on a variety of research projects.
